Almost half of British adults do no exercise whatsoever

A study by the British Heart Foundation (BHF) has revealed that almost half of adults do absolutely no exercise whatsoever.

The study was part of a campaign by David Lloyd Leisure aiming to raise £200,000 for BHF, and included 2000 adults aged between 18 and 60,

Researchers also found that while women are more likely to live a healthy lifestyle, men are more likely to work out more.

The study measured other aspects of lifestyle including diet, exercise and general health.

A spokesperson for David Lloyd Leisure says: ‘We know that people are more aware than ever of the importance of leading a healthy and active lifestyle but, in spite of this, our research shows that more than four in 10 people are still doing no exercise whatsoever which is a matter of real concern.’

‘Being fit and healthy should form an integral part of everyone’s lives, regardless of age or gender.’
